Getting it done
In order to realize the primary goal of easy self-education for everyone in the world, as outlined above, several things are needed:
- A standard file format is required along with a standard way to classify all of this material.
- A system is needed to distribute the material all over the world in a store and forward manner so that continuous internet connections are not required.
- Software is needed to create, organize, and display this content to the student as well as facilitate discussion of the content and subject matter among students and teachers.
- Finally, a system is needed to allow easy and trustworthy submission and vetting of content prior to distribution.
Fortunately, the foundations for much of this work have already been laid. The file format for all the data files is called the Distributable Educational Material Markup Language™ (DEMML™). This entire system is collectively known as the DEMML™ system.
